Growing up, my world revolved around football and music. The only problem was that I was rubbish at football and I couldn't play an instrument to save my life. I still loved the atmosphere though, whether it was the noise of a packed hall, the smell of the burger van at a match, or digging through records at the local shop.

Badges became my way into both worlds. They were small pieces of identity that let me feel part of the culture, even if I couldn't bend a free kick or pick up a guitar.

How Distinctive Badges Started

When I started collecting badges, I realised most manufacturers didn't share the same passion for the music, football and subculture scenes I grew up around. It was obvious they were just making products, not connecting with the meaning behind them.

That was when I saw a gap. Someone who actually understood the culture needed to make high quality memorabilia that felt authentic.
